RNLI all set for Cork Week with two exciting fundraising events

A black tie dinner featuring a conversation between Marine Correspondent Tom MacSweeney and Baltimore lifeboat Coxswain Keiran Cotter followed by a Mad Hatter Tea Party for the fashion conscious are two exciting RNLI fundraising events to be held during Cork week.

The charity will be hosting the two fundraising events at the Royal Cork Yacht Club duringCorkweek to raise funds to save lives at sea. 

A Black Tie Dinner will be held at the Royal Cork Yacht Club on Saturday 7 July.  Guests will be treated to a four course meal and drinks reception and the highlight of the evening will be a conversation between well known Baltimore RNLI Coxswain Kieran Cotter and marine correspondent Tom MacSweeney.  Keiran will talk about his life with the RNLI and his many years experience as a Coxswain with the well known westCorklifeboat station. 

There are a limited number of tickets available, which are priced at €75 for an individual or €650 for tables of ten.

The second event promises to be colourful and entertaining with guests invited to a Mad Hatters Tea Party on Tuesday 10 July from 2pm to 4pm at the Royal Cork Yacht Club. Guests will enjoy Afternoon Tea and must wear a hat. Stylish and wacky hats are most welcome, especially homemade creations. Prizes will be awarded to the best hat, the wackiest hat, the most stylish hat and much more.  Tickets are priced at €20 and the creations will be judged by Joan Cashman from the Colour  and Image Academy with the top prize of a €280 voucher for a full make over.

Keiran has so many great stories to share and is a hugely popular figure in the lifeboating community, while Tom’s knowledge and experience as a marine commentator is second to none.

We are also so pleased to have well known stylist Joan Cashman as our Mad Hatter judge. Tickets for the events are selling well and we hope for a full house for both.”
