The competitors at ACCBank Cork Week come from all over the world, this year a brand new yacht from the drawing board of America’s Cup designer Jason Ker is competing for the first time but the French crew from La Trinité sur Mer are no strangers to the event. This year they are competing with the yacht’s designer, Jason Ker, onboard in IRC Class Zero.
Skipper of “Inis Mor”, Bernard Gouy, explained “We have been sailing in Ireland for many years and as you can see we even gave the boat an Irish name, “Inis Mor”. We were very impressed with the first Ker 39, Colm Barrington’s “Silk Glove”. When we found out that there was going to be more built, we got in touch with Ker Design straight away. We have been coming to Cork Week since 1994 and we also like to do the Round Ireland Race. Cork Week is always a great occasion and we enjoy the friendly atmosphere, the variety of racing and a big glass of beer in the evening!”
