Volvo Cork Week Organisers are delighted to announce the all new Dinghy Dash for the Cash. This will take the form of an all in dinghy mini series to be held on Sunday July 6th during the open day for this year’s Volvo Cork Week. The event will consist of a series of three races. Each race will start under Camden Fort Meagher and will comprise of a number of laps of a triangular course on the Currabinny Bank with the finish under Camden Fort Meagher .
Volvo Cork Week Sponsors have very kindly put up a prize pool of €1,000 with €500 for first place and the remainder will go to Second and Third, with a large number of spot prizes also on offer.
Volvo Cork Week Organisers have also arranged to run an open top bus from the Royal Cork Yacht Club to Camden Fort Meagher cafe viewing point for any spectators that wish to watch the action.
This will be an open event and results will be calculated using Portsmouth Yardstick and, thinking back to the recent PYR that proved to be so popular, now is the time to express your interest in competing again with the assurance of excellent prizes and an absolutely great day to be enjoyed by all.
Entries will be limited to the first 50 dinghies to register. Closing date for receipt of entries will be July 1st and may be made to Daniel@corkweek.ie. The entry fee will be €10 per boat.
