John Lowry, (27) Vice Commodore of Cushendall Sailing & Boating Club in Co. Antrim, married Jane Gallagher (25) on Friday last, July 9th, in Glenariffe, Co Antrim and they’re spending the first week of their honeymoon racing at Cork Week on a boat called Wardance.
There are nine crewing on the boat, including John’s Dad, Paul. Paul and co-owner, Brenda Reddington, brought the boat, a Beneteau First 35, to Cork last week and then went back to Antrim for the Wedding which hosted 150 guests.
It’s to be a short honeymoon through, as John and Jane have the boat to themselves for tonight, and tonight only, and racing at Cork Week, in Crosshaven, Co. Cork, begins in the morning.
John and Jane have been seeing each other for the last five years. John is in property management and Jane is a second level teacher – after Cork the pair head to Bali for two weeks.
