Volvo Cork Week 2014 Irish Commodores’ Cup Team entry confirmed

Excellent sailing competition is expected during Volvo Cork Week 2014 with the news that the Irish Commodores’ Cup Team will be using this event to work up for their battle at the Commodores’ Cup in July 2014. This event was last won by the Irish Team in 2010 and there wasn’t an Irish entry in the 2012 event.

Heading Team Ireland as Captain of the three-boat squad is seasoned campaigner Anthony O’Leary from the Royal Cork Yacht Club. He led the 2010 team to their first major Irish victory on the Solent and will participate with his Ker 39, Antix in the 2014 Commodores’ Cup. VIPER will add bite to Sportsboat Class

The Viper Class are coming!

The winners of the IRC Sportsboat Class at Aberdeen Asset Cowes Week 2013 was decided on count-back splitting a Hunter 707 and a Viper 940 owned by Julian Cooke of Torquay. Julian is now putting down the challenge to the IRC Sportsboat Class at Volvo Cork Week next July when he brings his exciting new Viper to Crosshaven.

He is confident that a number of his class mates will also make the trip to enjoy the wide variety of courses and competition on offer. “We have been to Cork Week a number of times but are really looking forward to putting the Viper through her paces against the local 1720 fleet” he commented. “IRC …

The Royal Cork Yacht Club has two Cork 1720′s available for Charter for this years Volvo Cork Week from the 5th to 11th of July. The charter fee also includes entry fee to the event during the week. A reminder that there is not long left to avail of our early entry competition for Volvo Cork Week 2014, only 5 days left. The early entry competition ends next Wednesday the 30th at 17.00hrs and the winners will be announced on the 1st of May. A reminder of the prizes:
